DWDM wavelength

DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) is one of the xWDM technologies that provides the possibility of achieving more throughput for sending and receiving data because it uses many channels to send and receive information through two SMF (Single Mode Fiber) lines. one to send, the other to receive). ITU-T G.694.1 is a widely used recommended standard used in DWDM system, and the channel spacing for 12.5 GHz, 25 GHz, 50 GHz, 100 GHz and above is based on this standard. are designed DWDM channels from 1260 nm to 1675 nm are equally divided and grouped into bands and defined as follows:

O-Band Main band 1260-1360 nm
Extended E-band 1360-1460 nm
S band short wavelength 1460-1530 nm
Typical C-band 1530-1565 nm
Long wavelength band L 1565-1625 nm
Super long wavelength U-Band 1625-1675 nm

Today, DWDM systems based on the 100 GHz DWDM band using a DWDM channel plan with channels 17 to 61 are a common practice. With a channel spacing of 0.8 nm (detailed channel list in the DWDM ITU 100GHz channel table) because it is close to the OS2 optimized wavelength of 1550 nm and allows for longer data transmission distances.
