Difference between GLC-T module and GLC-TE module

Which one should we choose between GLC-t fiber optic module and GLc-TE module?

SFP transceiver modules have become very popular with the proliferation of routers and switches. GLC-T and GLC-TE are two types of SFP receiver modules. Since the names of GLC-T and GLC-TE are quite similar, many end users may be confused as to whether they are the same. Here we take a look at the GLC-T and GLC-TE to help you find the answer.

GLC-T

The GLC-T SFP is a 1000BASE-T Small Form-Factor Pluggable RJ45 interface converter. It can be inserted into Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect the ports to the network. The GLC-T SFP receiver provides 1Gbps data transmission. In addition, it supports two-way Gigabit Ethernet connection for the workstation. Using CAT5 cables, this SFP transceiver is designed with a maximum cable distance of up to 100 meters.

GLC-TE

The GLC-TE module is an SFP module designed for Gigabit Ethernet applications. Compatible with IEEE802.3 1000BASE-T standard. This model replaces the GLC-T, which means that the GLC-TE is a high-tech product. Therefore, this transceiver is designed with the same characteristics as the GLC-T type, but increases the temperature range from -5 to 85 degrees.

Comparison of GLC-T and GLC-TE:

Difference: Considering the above, it is clear that the main difference between GLC-T and GLC-TE is work. This means that the GLC-TE can work in a low or high temperature environment without any problems.

Similarities: Both the GLC-T and GLC-TE are 1000BASE-T copper receivers that conform to the IEEE 802.3 standard. They support the same data transfer speed and cable distance as CAT5 copper cables. However, given that most companies produce GLC-T SFP receivers, the GLC-TE is the best choice.
In addition, which is available for the GLC-T vs. the GLC-TE, except for night work.
